Jan Kleihues | Dipl.-Ing. Architekt BDA | Kleihues + Kleihues | Berlin/Germany

Jan Kleihues worked until 1991 in the office of Prof. Daniel Libeskind in Berlin and then in the office of Prof. Rafael Moneo in Madrid. In 1992 he set up his own office in Berlin.
From 1993 to 1998 he acted as contact architect for Prof. Rafael Moneo on various projects associated with the Potsdamer Platz development in Berlin.

In 1996 Jan Kleihues was appointed to the Association of German Architects (BDA) and became a member of the IDZ (International Design Centre) in Berlin. In the same year he teamed up with Prof. Josef P. Kleihues and Norbert Hensel to found the practice Kleihues + Kleihues Gesellschaft von Architekten mbH in Berlin.

Since 1992 Jan Kleihues has been registered as a freelance architect with the Berlin Chamber of Architects, and similarly with the North Rhine-Westphalia Chamber of Architects since 1996. Between 1999 and 2001 Jan Kleihues served on the Federal Committee of the BDA. In 2001 he was appointed to the Deutscher Werkbund as spokesman for the Young Architects' Group within the BDA. Since 2006 he has been a member of the Commission for Urban Design for the city of Munich, and he also holds a visiting professorship at the Technical College of Berlin.
